Thomas was watching every little movement Marishka made. He barely noticed Ruth leaving. He ended up giving a late reply. “Ah, thanks.” He watched her swipe the entire bowl of strawberries. A small smile appearing on his face. That was pretty adorable in his book. “Oh, it’s no problem.” He leaned back in his chair and waited for her to speak again.
…
Thomas looked completely shocked when she mentioned him going home. RIGHT. He did have to leave this place. And if anyone had anything to say about it they would probably say that was for the best. He shook his head. “No it’s okay. I’ll just order an uber.” He looked down at his phone and ordered one. Thomas looking around the house when she mentioned a chill. “Really? It doesn’t feel cold to me.” Ah. He had a feeling Ruth would not consider him a friend.
…
Ruth was helping putting away the dishes with Violet when she heard her name being called. She could only sigh. Violet smirking at here. “Don’t you think you should hurry to say goodbye to your friend?” Ruth shot her a look. “That issue aside. Is the issue actually involving the thermostat?” Moira shook her head. “On this occasion I believe it is not.” Ruth nodded her head and walked out of the kitchen. She turned to Tomtom. “If you need anything you can remember you have Marishka’s number.” She opened the door for him. “I hope you had a nice dinner.” Ruth spread her arm out so she was pointing out the door. “Good night.” Tomtom nodded his head slowly. “Right…” He turned to look at Marishka. “Night. Text me if you need help with anything or if you just want some company in a new town.” He went to say more, but Ruth gave him the get-out-of-my-house look. Waving goodbye, Tomtom scurried out of the house and Ruth slammed the door closed. “Finally.” She pat Milton on the head and whispered. “Upstairs.” Milton taking off up the stairs towards her room. Ruth turning to Marishka. “I’m going to turn in for the night.” She walked up the stairs and headed into her room. Ruth walking into the bathroom to splash water on her face. “If you don’t like him you didn’t have to let him in in the first place.” She turned around to see the notorious Tate Langdon standing behind her. “You’re Tate right?” He crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame. “Don’t tell me your another psyco fan.” Ruth shook her head. “As if I’d be a fan of guy who shot up his high school for no apparent reason.” Tate smiling. “I had a reason.” Ruth pushed past him and sat on the bed Milton was getting comfortable on. “Nice dog.” He said. Ruth turned to look at him. “Don’t tell me you are a dog killer too.” Now he seemed to look offended. “Don’t ever compare me to those scum. People sure, but dogs? What did they do to deserve it. They basically just run around shitting everywhere.” Ruth smiled at looked down at Milton. “Basically.” He walked towards her. “I heard you talked to Violet.” She looked at him confused. “Don’t tell me you two are in some feuding factions or something.” He shook his head. “No. She’s my ex.” Ruth smirked at him. “I’m guessing it wasn’t your choice.” Tate nodded. “Good guess.” She sighed. “You are going to tell me about it, aren’t you?” Tate nodded his head. “You are going to need all the friends you can get in this house.” Ruth pondered the idea for a moment and then nodded in agreement. “Go on.”
