I sat in one of the cushioned chairs facing the windows. There was a wonderful knack to the Slytherin Common Room in that it had many silent corners created within it. All I had to do was turn a chair and my own private area was created. The pale green light and blue from the lake outside oddly comforting. Tucking my legs underneath me and pulling a blanket over me, I began to go over some of the things I’ve learned in the day. Most of what was important were the social ques:

I sighed and put my notes away in the back of one of my textbooks. My brother popped his head around. A quirky smile plastered on his face as he pulled a chair into the corner.
“How was your day?”
He sighed into his chair.
“It was less exciting than yours.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
I watched my brother’s smile turn a bit nasty. There was nothing else I could do but shiver.
“You met Opehlia and Honore.”
I dismissed the potential danger and nodded my head.
“I did. Were they the only ones?”
He shook his head no.
“I had a chance to talk to Serpens brother, Saros.”
Saros? The blonde-haired one?
“He seems quiet.”
Ailean nodded his head.
“Quieter than his brother but I don’t think he’s any better really.”
I leaned further into the cushioned chair. It was very nice. They were like the chairs in Cadmael’s home.
“Anyone outside of Slytherin?”
He nodded his head.
“A Ravenclaw boy and a Hufflepuff.”
A Hufflepuff? I turned to look at him confused.
“You went up to him or him to you?”
My brother’s evil smile appeared again.
“I to him of course. The poor boy dropped his books.”
Poor boy indeed.
“Ailean you aren’t planning anything with him are you?”
He shook his head no.
“Not at the moment.”
I pulled the blanket up higher over me. There was still a lurking coldness to the dungeons.
“Did you meet anyone else?”
My eyes closed as I felt myself growing sleepy.
“No one you haven’t seen.”
“Alright. Make sure you do your homework before you go to bed.”
My eyes didn’t open but I could hear him leaving. Today was more taxing than I thought and I had already assumed it to be very taxing.
