Marcus was casually walking over to Rao when he felt his eyes suddenly narrow on a man’s light brush against Rao’s arm. Leichnik? What did Wells call him again? Leech? It was probably Leech. Marcus arriving behind her. He put his hands gently on her shoulders, as if to rest them there. However, if that wasn’t his only reason everyone would be aware that except his Rao. Marcus smiled down at her gently. “I know who he is.” His eyes looking down to appraise the man. He did not have the figure that would be worthy to even think to touch what was not his. “Everyday I live is a special occasion. You know that Leech- Leichnik.” Marcus scooping Rao up into his arms. “I know you didn’t want to be lifted but even I need a hug.” He looked down like a puppy for a hug from her. Marcus eyes looking up afterwards, not releasing. “So, who were you planning to introduce her too? I have a moment to relax and talk with people?” The statement was clear. Stay away from my girl or else.

Etes wasn’t expecting the quivering thing to actually respond to him. However, she did, with completely unimportant information. What was there even to say in response? The dog did it? The dog let the other dogs out? Simpletons. At her next question, however, his attention was regained. Was this a thing that did more than quiver? Etes turned to look at her. “You were diligently keeping count I see.” He walked closer to her and leaned down and to the side so he could look at her better and from an angle. “Does a single voice bother you more than a horde of voices? Perhaps, it is the depth of a single voice that is worse than a horde? The context?” Etes backed up only the slightest inch. “No, I don’t think it’s that particular problem at the moment.” A cocky smirk appeared on his face. “As for respective affairs, you wouldn’t be the worst option.” He would be able to avoid all the women Sunsan’s mother wished to push on him. Useless things. Etes eyes appraising Zletka. She was attractive. “So, the genius cadet is beautiful inside and out. I guess the rumors aren’t all false.” He reached out and cupped the side of her face with his hand. “Hm, to think how different species can be and yet feel the same.” It was almost cruel to give such inferior creatures hope of being more. As if they were almost there. Almost enough. Etes withdrew his hand. “Alright betazoid. I’ll leave it up to you. You can go back into the horde of voices that will get louder and louder as the night goes on or you can spend more than three minutes and forty second out here.”
