June Writing Mini-Camp: Day 19

Hi Hi Y’all!

Since, this is my first writing camp I haven’t really had it planned well. BUT I AM FIXING IT NOW! Until, the end of June I will have a post a daily reminder of the monthly camp and a day challenge to keep yourself going!

Day 19:

Reach out to any of fellow writer’s you know and check in! Tell them about your WIP and what it inspires in you.

Should I or Shouldn’t I?

I’ve been wrestling with the idea for years on wether or not I should have a podcast.  On one hand, it is a great platform to talk about my interests and explore areas I never thought I could explore. On the other hand, it is also an activity that challenges my anxieties about using technology, maintaining a schedule and truly promoting a person. It shouldn’t be such a daunting decision, but it feels like with the media relevant day and age we are in that it is a much bigger choice then what it initially lets on. Putting aside the pros of it all I see two major cons: (1)OBS basic software is a challenge for me on it’s own and (2) would anyone watch a podcast without seeing the person’s face. I mean… I would still want to keep that feeling of anonymity. I like following in the footsteps of past female writers. AND I love the fact a pen name gives off the feeling anyone could basically be the writer. A podcast would just destroy that? No?

All that being said…. I did write an intro script and one on Jason Todd (because yea right I would wing it).

SHOULD I? SHOULDN’T I?

Medical Marijuana Card !?!

For as long as I can remember I have been a traditional sort of person. Not the uptight, Republican staunch elitist… Well, I am a slight elitist….But the natural I wear metal T-shirts and want women to vote, but you should still open a door for me and not complain when I send the family I dislike a monthly check sort.

You know, the so called “modern traditionalist”. That’s me. I don’t really drink. I don’t do drugs. No matter how bad it gets I can’t touch anything around me that can alter my perception. That would be blasphemy to how I was raised… Even if a stiff drink sounds like a great idea. I don’t touch it.

Now imagine being this and your doctor having this kind of phone dialogue with you :

Doc : You know, I hate to say this, but you will not get the med you need any time soon. You have no health insurance and the med is a couple thousand dollars a month. Your pain will just keep climbing. Soooo… I am going to suggest something out there. Something I don’t normally suggest to my patients, you see. Have you thought about getting a Medical Marijuana card? We can set up your appointment.

Me : *Cough Cough* A what …. ?

Doc : You know, a medical marijuana card. The Molly. The MJ. The herb. The stuff you kids do these days.

Me : Aaaaaaah. You know DOCTOR PHIL, I don’t drink or smoke right?

Doc : Sure. Sure. But you don’t have to smoke it.

Me : Aaaaaah. I don’t think my mom would want me to have those calories.

Doc : I’m not talking about eating it. Go on and make an appointment. Get the info. It will help with the pain.

Doc: See you next month….

Me : But Doc, I don’t have an –

*Hangs up*

Yea. This is my crazy conservative old man who fought with me a year about getting anti-inflammatory for my auto immune disease. Now he wants a control freak on Marijuana?

Guess, I just had to make an appointment. Get the info and the facts. Have an open mind. I can be hip and fun. And stuff.

Or I should cancel this appointment. I don’t know. I am so confused. Does marijuana laced creams actually help pain?

I feel like a sell out to my problems….

AAAAAAAH

What is my life now,
